Michael Westbrook has served as the lead play-by-play announcer for the Great American Conference Sports Network since 2013.
In 2003, Westbrook began working in radio at the age of 17 in his hometown of Weatherford, Texas. While in college he served as the sports director of the campus radio station. His senior year he worked at News Radio 1080 KRLD, before landing his first full-time play-by-play job.
Westbrook spent four seasons as the radio voice of Southeastern Oklahoma State University Athletics from 2009 to 2013. During this time, he worked two seasons as the play-by-play announcer of the High School Football Game of the Week on KTEN-TV in Denison, Texas.
Westbrook teaches Audio/Video Technology at Arkansas High School in Texarkana, Arkansas. He is also the on-site engineer for Ouachita Baptist football broadcasts and the play-by-play announcer for Ouachita Baptist basketball.
He is a graduate of the University of North Texas with a bachelor’s degree in Radio, Television and Film. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from Southern Arkansas University. He and his wife, Betty, reside in Texarkana.
Joey McWilliams is a long-time sports journalist, having covered sports via radio, newspaper, television and the Internet since 2000. He was the color analyst for the Southeastern Savage Storm football and basketball teams from 2001-2011. He currently does play-by-play for high school football and basketball on radio for Mix 96.1 in Durant. He is also the owner, senior writer and editor of OklahomaSports.Net.
Joey is an alum of Southeastern Oklahoma State University and Oklahoma State University, including a journalism/broadcasting degree at OSU in sports media. He earned first place in the television sports play-by-play category in the 2012 OAB/OBEA competition. He also coached high school girls' and boys' basketball for seven years and high school football for one season at Victory Life Academy. Joey is married to the love of his life, Jodi, and will celebrate 21 years of marriage in October 2013. They live in Durant, Oklahoma, where they have five beautiful children: Jacelyn, Jenna, Jayla, Jolie and Jake.
Paul Smith serves as the sideline reporter for the Great American Conference on the GAC Sports Network. Since August 2012, Smith has served as the sports information director at Arkansas Tech University. He has also served in a similar capacity at Arkansas-Monticello, Oakland University, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Delta State.
Smith started his broadcasting career in 1998. Since then, he has served as the lead play-by-play announcer for football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, and softball at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, handled softball play-by-play duties for Delta State, football play-by-play duties for Powers Catholic High School. Additionally, he served as a substitute announcer for West Alabama baseball and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women’s basketball. Smith currently serves as the radio play-by-play voice of the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys baseball team.
A 2003 alumnus of the University of Arkansas at Monticello, Smith currently serves as the executive director and president of Phi Lambda Chi National Fraternity. He and his wife, Stacy, reside in Russellville, Arkansas, with their two children, Audrey and Jack.
